PLC EVOLUTION

PLC has its origins in motor manufacturing industries. The manufacturing process was partially automated by the use of rigid control circuits electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic. It was found that whenever a change had to be made the system had to be rewired or reconfigured. The connections of wiring boards can be changed and rewired. But it was a quite difficult task for most of the applications. So if a computer can be programmed to do certain tasks, then a reprogramming can also be done to design a system for accepting industrial inputs and producing required outputs and it was there the PLC born.
